Valby - the Garden Towns

In 1901 the small country village Valby merged with the municipality of Copenhagen and companies like Nordisk Film, Carlsberg, F. L. Smidth, Aller transformed Valby from an old peasant society into an industrial society. 

Inspired by England, the idea about sustainable towns in the town was copied and lots of small houses with gardens, work places, institutions and green areas were built and created.
